Because this is an RPG, you’ll eventually need to level up your character and even strengthen your gear if you want to keep up with the tougher enemies that you’ll come across in Code Vein. Here’s how to upgrade weapons and armor in Code Vein.
How to Upgrade Weapons and Armor in Code Vein
As soon as you finish the tutorial level and unlock Home Base, you’ll be able to start upgrading your gear.
All you have to do is talk to Murasame, choose the Upgrade Equipment option, and you’ll be able to strengthen either your weapons or Blood Veils. Just like in the Soulsborne games, upgraded gear levels will be reflected in the gear name, with +2 indicating that it’s been strengthened twice, and so on and so forth.
We can’t confirm the max upgrade level for gear just yet, but if it’s anything like the Souls games, it should cap out at +10.
Required Materials to Upgrade Weapons & Armor
Of course, Murasame isn’t just gonna let you strengthen your gear for free. To upgrade weapons and armor, you’ll need materials like Queen’s Iron, Queen’s Steel, and Queen’s Titanium.
Iron is the lowest tier material, while Steel and Titanium are more high end. Once you reach the Cathedral of Sacred Blood area, enemies will start dropping Queen’s Steel.
If you find yourself in need of more materials, though, Coco does sell a limited number of them at her shop back at Home Base.
Once you have all the materials you need, you’ll also have to pay a small amount of Haze to actually complete the upgrade.
