How to Beat Graveward in Borderlands 3

Graveward is the major story boss you’ll face when you open the second Vault in Borderlands 3. This fight isn’t actually all that tough; it’s just incredibly time-consuming.

That said, here are a few key points to keep in mind:

  1. Always aim for the yellow spots on the boss’ body.

  2. When the stage slants, hop into the little hole in the ground to keep your footing.

  3. Always run and slide under the fire beam to minimize damage taken from the boss.

  4. Keep as far away from the boss as possible when it starts spewing out toxic vomit.

The most frustrating thing about the Graveward fight is that the boss itself is a bullet sponge. Its attack patterns aren’t necessarily difficult to read, you’ll just have to take your time in whittling down its health while dodging its moves accordingly.

The key thing to note is that the yellow spots on Graveward’s body are its weak points. They can be located on its hands, its chest, and its head. Whenever the stage tilts, for instance, the weak spot on the chest will be exposed, allowing you to fire at it.

Whenever Graveward punches its fists into the walls, aim at the hands to hit those weak spots, but also get ready for toxic adds to spawn.

Lastly, when Graveward punches both fists into the ground, its head will be lowed, revealing the weak spot and allowing you to fire at it.

Its two other big moves involve it spewing toxic gunk on the ground and unleashing a large fire beam that’s unavoidable.

When it lifts its head up to vomit, you’ll want to stay away and head to the back of the stage to avoid the damage. When it does the fire beam, run towards the beam and slide under it. You’ll still take damage, but you’ll at least minimize it as much as possible.

That’s all you need to know about how to beat Graveward in Borderlands 3. Be sure to check our Borderlands 3 guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
