As you walk through the creepy, ever-changing Black Hills Forest in Blair Witch, you’re going to see and hear all kinds of weird and unsettling things. While it’s possible to blast through the game in one sitting, chances are you’re at least going to want to save your progress. Here’s how to save in Blair Witch.
How to Save in Blair Witch
Blair Witch’s save system is honestly a little bit confusing. It primarily uses an auto-save system so that you don’t have to worry about it at all, but there’s also a (kind of) manual save system that piggybacks off this.
Basically, the game will auto-save your game whenever you see the red Blair Witch symbol appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
This happens every five to 10 minutes of in-game progression, so you won’t have to retrace too many of your steps if you have to leave in a rush.
Manual Saving in Blair Witch
There is also the option to manually save your progress in the game, though it even notes itself that it will not record your exact progress up to that point, but instead creates a permanent file of your last auto-save.
Honestly, we’re not too sure what the difference is between letting auto-save do its thing, and utilizing the manual save, but we always manually saved just before exiting the game just to be safe.
When you start the game back up, keep in mind that you might have to re-do a little bit of the game, depending on how far you are between two of the auto-save checkpoints in Blair Witch.
As we said, though, these are fairly frequent, so it shouldn’t take you too long to get back up to speed.
