The new Wolfenstein spin-off, Youngblood, is out now and it sees you take control of B.J Blazkowicz’s teenage daughter in co-op action. Elsewhere though, it’s still the classic Nazi killing fare you’d expect. If you’re just wanting to blast through the story or give yourself an even bigger challenge, here’s everything you need to know about how to change difficulty in Wolfenstein Youngblood.

With the game featuring a new level system that sees you improve and pitted against enemies of increasing strength, it can be pretty tough at times. The last few games have been difficult too, with lowering the difficulty often being the way of getting the most enjoyment out of it.

Changing Difficulty in Wolfenstein Youngblood

Thankfully, if you’re finding Youngblood particularly difficult at any point, you can quickly change difficulty and carry on from where you were.

The first thing you need to do is press the Options button if you’re playing on PS4 to pause the game (Menu or Xbox One and + on Switch).

Just be aware that since Youngblood is a game that’s built to be online, the game doesn’t fully pause, with the action still continuing behind the menu, even when playing alone. So be quick about it.

Then, select Options, then Gameplay, and then you’ll see the Difficulty options at the bottom of that list. You can cycle right to increase it, or go left to lower it, with Normal being the default option.

There are actually quite a few options for you to change difficulty to in Wolfenstein Youngblood. You can choose easy, casual, normal, hard, very hard, and challenging to give yourself the perfect experience for you. You can also change it at any time, incase you increase it and then have difficulties and want to revert back.
