How Players Can Change the Game’s Campaign Mode Difficulty
For changing the game’s difficulty before a game, players have a few options they can use.
For campaign mode, players can alter the difficulty in a few ways. Before starting a game, players are tasked with choosing a general or leader tied to a certain faction.
Each of these characters comes with their own advantages, scenarios to overcome and so on.
Each character also has a difficulty setting assigned to their campaign. For example, choosing Gongsun Zan locks players into a normal campaign, while choosing Kong Rong locks them into a hard campaign.
This acts as the bog-standard way to select a campaign’s challenge level. After selecting a campaign though, players can tweak the difficulty further through the game’s settings, both before and during the campaign.
The option to do so can be found in the game’s settings menu, and can be adjusted as the player sees fit until the gameplay feels properly challenging.
How to Change the Battle Mode Difficulty in Total War Three Kingdoms
As for Battle Mode, changing difficulty can be done via the latter method mentioned for the campaign mode.
Before starting a Battle Mode play session, players can tweak the challenge presented through the difficulty tab in the settings menu. This is done in the same way they would for the campaign mode, and can be done after a match has been started as well.
