How to Use the Knockdown Shield in Apex Legends

Apex Legends puts a greater emphasis on team coordination and squad dynamics than other battle royale games. Although not unique to the game, you’ll able to recover teammates that have been knocked down by enemy fire. Here, though, your buddies won’t be helpless; they can use a shield for cover. Here’s how to use the knockdown shield in Apex Legends.

The knockdown shield functions as a protective shield to hide behind when you’re waiting for a teammate to revive you. But it’s not something that you’ll have automatically. Like other gear in the game, the shield is a piece of armor that you need to loot.

There’s no hard and fast location we can give you as to where you’ll find one — but we’ve found they do often spawn in when Lifeline uses her care package Ult.

As for how to actually use an equip the item, simply pick it up and the shield is automatically ready to go. As long as it’s in your inventory then you’ll have it at the ready for the crucial moment.

When you’re knocked down with a knockdown shield in your inventory, you’ll get a prompt that pops up (it’s left mouse button on PC, for example).

Do keep in mind, though, that the shield isn’t a protective bubble; to block fire effectively you must aim the shield toward the direction of the incoming fire.

That’s all the information you should need about how to use the knockdown shield in Apex Legends. For more useful tips and guides, be sure to search Twinfinite.
