Xbox One Game Releases for December 2018

2018 is drawing to a close, and boy have we seen some great titles released on the Xbox One. From Forza Horizon 4, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Black Ops 4, through to Sea of Thieves, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and State of Decay 2. As we enter December 2018, things really start to slow down in terms of releases for the Xbox One.

In fact, there are only six games hitting the Xbox One in December and they all release on the same day. The most notable of these is definitely Just Cause 4 from Avalanche Studios. Players will once again step into the shoes of Rick Rodriguez as he attempts to defeat Gabriela Morales and the Black Hand, a hi-tech private military organization.

As you’d expect from a Just Cause title, 4 continues the series trend of offering an enormous open world, creative ways to explore it, and even more creative and enjoyable ways to cause all kinds of havoc and destruction. With a wingsuit and a fully customizable grappling hook at your disposal, you can bet your bottom dollar there’s going to be a plethora of ways to approach each and every mission.

Outside of Just Cause 4, Xbox One owners can also pick up Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales if they’re itching to dive into the Witcher universe once again. This time, however, the gameplay is based around a card game, with a player’s army coming in the form of a deck of cards that you’ll need to use to fight battles and solve puzzles. This is a must for lore fiends desperate for a deeper dive into the world of the Witcher.

Our final highlight comes in the form of Subnautica which sees players diving into the depths of an underwater, alien world. You’ll need to craft various equipment and items to survive, and use submarines to explore the deepest and most dangerous depths of this big blue ocean.

Eventually, you’ll be building sea bases, unraveling the mysterious infection plaguing the sea life, and know the ins and outs of the ocean itself, avoiding exploring at night to keep out of predators’ ways, and exploring cave systems on the ocean floor. If you’re looking for an immersive and unique experience to dive into on your Xbox One for December, this really is a solid pick.
