Henry Cavill Sports Luscious Locks in Your First Look at Geralt For The Witcher Netflix Series

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Netflix has released the very first look at Superman actor Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in their upcoming adaption of The Witcher. It’s a short 20-second clip, and it’s important to keep in mind this is still test footage and the final look could, and probably will, change. The costume and makeup test sees Cavill sport the luscious white locks of Geralt and the yellow cat-like eyes. He even downs a potion right at the end. However, fans seem to be a little divided on the look, noting things like the distinct lack of scars.

The comments of the tweet are filled with photos of other fair-faced white-haired characters like Luscius Malfoy, Viserys from Game of Thrones, and Legolas from Lord of the Rings. As well as a few other choice gifs, like this.

Just based on the casting of Cavill, it’s clear that The Witcher Netflix series is going for a younger version of Geralt, rather than the grizzled, older version found in the CD Projekt Red games. Of course, it’s important to keep in mind that Netflix’s show is a completely separate and original adaption, only tied to The Witcher book series and not the games.

At this point, we’ll just have to wait and see if this is the final look, or if there are more alterations and changes to be made.

The Witcher Netflix series is set to premiere sometime in 2019 on the streaming service, although we currently don’t have an exact date or window.
