How to Prestige in CoD Black Ops 4
Treyarch‘s CoD Black Ops 4 brings the beloved multiplayer franchise back for another go round. Even though it introduces a host of new elements, and a brand new battle royale mode, Black Ops 4 still has the same multiplayer heart at its core. This includes building loadouts, selecting your specialist, and more. Of course, for those longtime Call of Duty player there’ll also be Prestige options. Now you might be wondering how to Prestige in Black Ops 4, and luckily it works basically like it did in past CoD games.
Max Level Cap in Black Ops 4
Before you can even think about Prestiging, you’ll need to hit the max level cap. This is no easy feat, of course, as you’ll need to play quite a bit of multiplayer. Black Ops 4 has a level cap of 55, which is when you’ll stop unlocking new guns and equipment. It should be noted that this is only the level cap for multiplayer as Blackout has a level cap of 80. However, Blackout won’t have any kind of Prestige options and will just have a hard cap.
How to Prestige in Black Ops 4
Now that you know the max level cap, the first step for how to Prestige is to reach it. Once you’ve reached level 55 you’ll have the option to Prestige.
This means you get a snazzy new emblem on your name as well as an unlock token. The catch, of course, is that your level is reset all the way back down to one and you use all of the weapons and gear you’ve unlocked. You’ll have to unlock it again.
Just like past CoD games, Black Ops 4 has ten different Prestige levels. Each time you advance you’ll be set back to level 1 and lose your progress. However, each time you’ll get an unlock token that can be used to unlock one thing permanently.
If you’re unfamiliar with Prestige in past CoD games, it’s clearly only for the really dedicated CoD players. But it is a nice reward, and of course gives you bragging rights. If you’re planning on playing Black Ops 4’s multiplayer a lot, you should be able to get at least a few of those snazzy emblems.
