According to Media Create sales for the week of Oct 8 – 14 in Japan, Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII takes the number one spot despite releasing two days before the end of the reported week.
Looking at the past three launches of Call of Duty games in Japan over the past three years with WWII, Infinite Warfare, and Black Ops III, it appears that Black Ops IIII has overperformed, selling 228,000 units. WWII opened up with 168,234 retail units sold on PS4, Infinite Warfare with 105,764, and Black Ops III with 143,817.
Super Mario Party trails behind in second place, losing its top spot that it was just in last week when the Switch party game beat out the launch of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
