CoD Black Ops 4 is the latest entry in Activision’s annual Call of Duty franchise, and developing studio Treyarch is back at the helm yet again. This time around, we won’t be getting a single-player story campaign like we have been every year.
Instead, Treyarch is going all out with the multiplayer stuff. Black Ops 4 comes with three multiplayer modes: Blackout, the traditional core multiplayer modes, as well as Zombies.
If you’re playing the Zombies mode and are wondering how exactly to gift weapons to teammates in Black Ops 4 Zombies, here’s what you need to know.
From what we’ve played so far, it looks like you can only gift weapons to teammates through the use of Mystery Boxes. Mystery Boxes can be found on all Zombies maps, and they usually look like oversized chests or coffins.
You’ll need 900 points to open them, though, so make sure you save up. Mystery Boxes will reward you with a random weapon, which can be either very good or bad, depending on your luck.
In order to gift weapons to teammates in Black Ops 4, you’ll have to do it through a Mystery Box. So what you want to do is spend your 900 points on the Mystery Box, and then hold the L3 button on your controller to give it up for gifting.
After that, any teammate who comes by the Mystery Box will be able to hit the square button and pick up the weapon you just purchased for them.
If you don’t hold the L3 button, your teammates won’t be able to pick them up. It’s also worth noting that once you give the weapon up for gifting, you won’t be able to pick it up either. Make sure you’re already set on weapons before giving up your Mystery Box gift.
Mystery Boxes are a great way to give yourself a real advantage early in Black Ops 4’s Zombies mode. If you’re lucky, you might be able to get a really expensive or powerful gun early in the game, and this will allow you to clear out the waves faster, and complete your objectives before things get too difficult.
If you’ve got the spare cash, it’s definitely worth investing in the Mystery Box to see what you can get. Not to mention, it’s also a great way to help out your teammates who have spent all their points opening up doors, and don’t have enough to get themselves a new weapon.
