How to Save in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Ubisoft‘s Assassin’s Creed games have got much bigger in recent years. Gone are the days or linear assassination and escort missions. Now, with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey taking the series to Ancient Greece, there’s far more to see and do. Missions are longer, there’s more to collect, and side-quests are far more complex. As you explore the game’s beautiful open-world, you’ll want to know how to ensure that you do not lose your progress at any point. Well, here is everything you need to know about how to save in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

As you’d expect from a modern open world game, knowing how to record your progress in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is quite simple.

First off, the game saves regularly as you play. When you finish missions or do things in the world, a small Greek writing looking symbol will appear in the bottom left of the screen. While that shows, the game is saving, and it’ll be complete once it disappears.

Alternatively, if you don’t trust auto-save in Odyssey, you can do so manually.

First, all you need to do is press the Options or Menu button (whatever button pauses on your console of choice). Then, press left on the d-pad and choose the self-titled option.

This will allow you to record your progress by letting you select a new file, ensuring that no progress will be lost. Once it says that the process has completed, simply back out of the menu and continue on your journey across the seas of Ancient Greece.

Additionally, if there’s a certain decision or choice you’re about to make and you want to make sure you end up with a good outcome in your game, there’s a quick solution for this! You can pause the game and press up on the d-pad to quick save. This is a faster way to do it all and make sure you have a checkpoint to go back to.
