Assassin’s Creed Odyssey takes players to the year 431 BCE, telling the fictional history of the Peloponnesian War. Essentially, if you’ve ever thought it’d be cool to Spartan Kick someone in the face as an assassin, this is the game for you. Just as we saw with Origins last year, Odyssey continues to transition the series more towards an RPG. You’ll level up your character, swap your weapons out, earn skill points, and learn new abilities along the way. There are even romance options in the game, too. It’s obviously of paramount importance, then, that you look your best at all times. Here’s how to get clothes & outfits in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

How to Get Clothes & Change Your Character’s Look

While some RPGs like to put even more options into their character customization features, the game’s is a little more streamlined. You’ll essentially change your character’s look by acquiring new armor pieces. The same ones that grant you additional protection from attacks.

As such it’s pretty easy to get clothes and outfits in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, as they’re a reward for quite a few different things. You could get one from a fallen enemy, you could loot more of them from chests, or even as rewards for quests. Oh, and mercenaries and cultists tend can sometimes drop these equipable items, too.

When you get a new bit of armor to drop as a reward, you’ll want to walk on over to it and pick it up first.

Once you’ve picked up the gear, you’ll need to bring up the game menu and then use your controller’s should buttons (or your mouse) to select the Inventory tab. You should now see all the different bits of armor you’re currently wearing. Use the left analog stick to highlight the piece of gear you want to switch out, and press X on PS4 or A on Xbox One. This will then show you all of the alternative armor you can equip in that slot. Select the new piece of armor you just picked up by hovering over it again and press X or A.

After you’ve confirmed your decision, your character within the menu should now be looking all sleek and bad-ass in their new clothes. Head out of the menus and you’ll be back in the game world, with your character now donning their new outfits of the day… and maybe an armor buff, too!

That’s all you need to know to get clothes and outfits in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Want to make sure you’re ready to take on the challenge and be the assassin you know deep down you were born to be? Well, good, because our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey wiki is here to get you prepared for the job!
