How to Get Mamoswine in Pokemon Games
Swinub, and its evolution Pilloswine, were introduced into the Pokemon series in the second generation, and have been staples ever since. Getting a Pilloswine in the games has always been simple, with Swinub evolving from level 33. However, when Mamoswine was introduced in Generation IV, the evolution chain was made more complicated. Evolving Pilloswine was no longer a case of simply levelling it up to a certain point. If you’re struggling to work out what you need to do in whichever Pokemon game you are playing, here’s everything you need to know.
Simply, to get Mamoswine in Pokemon, your Pilloswine needs to know the move Ancient Power when you level it up. Of course, that’s probably easier said than done, and you’ll probably have to go out of your way to teach Pilloswine the move before it evolves. Piloswine knows Ancient Power as a Level 1 move, but since you’re unlikely to find a Pilloswine that is Level 1, you’ll have make it re-learn the move. If you take a Heart Scale to the Move Relearner, you should be able to make the Pilloswine in your active party learn Ancient Power, and once you’ve levelled it up again, it can evolve into Mamoswine. Where you get a Heart Scale and where the Move Relearner is differs depending on the Pokemon game you are playing.
If you’re trying to evolve Pilloswine into Mamoswine in Pokemon GO, however, you’re out of luck for now. Gen IV isn’t currently in the mobile game, therefore Mamoswine isn’t. It’s the next generation that is due to be introduced, so you might not need to wait too long. Heart Scale will probably be added as an item at that point, too.
