Fortnite: How to Enter Summer Skirmish Tournaments

How to Enter Summer Skirmish Tournaments in Fortnite

Recommended Videos

Earlier this month, Epic Games announced Fortnite’s Summer Skirmish series. An online eight-week series of competitions with $8 million (USD) in prize money to be given out over its course. Things kicked off in its first weekend, with a Duos competition offering up $250,000. This last week also saw a Solo competition with players taking part in 10 Solo matches and points being assigned out for a Victory Royale, Eliminations, and bonuses for hitting 20 Eliminations in a single match. With huge amounts of cash up for grabs in Fortnite’s Summer Skirmish tournaments, it’s understandable that you may be wondering what you need to do to enter.

Fortnite’s Summer Skirmish tournaments are made up of some of the best competitive players, as well as some of the top streamers and other community creators. If you make your way over to the tournament’s official page and scroll down to the bottom, you’ll see that Epic Games invites a number of players, and then includes high performers from the Solo Showdown Limited Time Mode that was briefly available back in May. This was deemed Fortnite’s first foray into the competitive scene, so it’s no surprise that Epic Games is using this as a means of finding the best players to pit against one another.

As such, chances are unless you’re already a prominent Fortnite community creator, or performed particularly well in the Solo Showdown LTM back in May, you won’t be getting an invite to the Summer Skirmish tournaments.

That doesn’t mean you’ll never be able to take part in any Fortnite tournaments, though. Summer Skirmish is the first competitive series of its kind for the game, so chances are we could see similar tournaments show up later on this year, if not definitely next year.

That’s all you need to know about how to enter the Summer Skirmish tournaments in Fortnite. For more on the game’s fifth season, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
