Sega is drumming up the fanfare for anniversaries of two celebrated systems in its portfolio: the Mega Drive and Dreamcast. Both beloved systems are celebrating their 20th and 30th anniversaries respectively, and as such Sega has opened up a new website as tribute to both of them.
The website will be updated over the coming days with additional information related to both systems’ milestones, and other cool updates regarding both consoles. Sega is currently planning on releasing a Mega Drive Mini console soon, as well as additional Mega Drive titles for Switch this summer with the Sega Ages collection, but there’s no word on anything planned for Dreamcast at this juncture.
Plus, the site is all in Japanese, so you might not be able to read what’s going on, but it’s still a nice gesture considering how influential both systems were for Sega and the gaming landscape in general. It’s hard to choose a favorite, so luckily both systems are getting their fair due on the newly-opened site.
With E3 2018 around the corner next week, we might also see some cool announcements regarding the Dreamcast or Mega Drive coming down the pipeline, so make sure you stay tuned for any upcoming developments that come out of the show. We’ll be here keeping you posted every step of the way, especially if something crazy were to happen with one or both systems.
