Endure or Push Leo As Markus in Detroit Become Human
Detroit Become Human starts ramping up fast for each of the characters. Markus, for example, will return home with Carl one night to find the studio lights left on. They think it’s a break in, but it’s really just Carl’s dead beat son Leo rummaging through the art. It will escalate and Markus will start being attacked by Leo. Carl says not to fight back because it’d be tainting you to do so, but you always have a choice. Here’s what happens when you choose to endure or fight back against Leo.
Once Markus decides it’s not fair to just listen to Carl and sit there, obedient. He wants the choice to attack if he so pleases. He’ll break through his programming (metaphorically and literally as players will see), and you’ll be able to choose.
If you choose to push, Markus will grab Leo and slam him back. He’ll stumble, bash his head, and be knocked right out. Carl will cry over his son’s body, and warn Markus to run because the police will see him as a monster. Unfortunately, Markus doesn’t budge, gets mistaken as the aggressor by the police that barge in, and is shot.
If you choose to endure, Carl will have a heart attack and die, leaving Markus crying and calling out to him while holding his body. The police will arrive and Leo will tell them it was all “the android’s” fault. They’ll shoot him. In both scenarios, he won’t be dead though. His real destiny isn’t quite done.
There are more small differences to each decision that will pop up later in Detroit Become Human, but those are the immediate important things you should know.
