MLB The Show 18’s Diamond Dynasty mode got a face lift from last year’s iteration. Programs are much easier to navigate and better integrated into all of the game’s modes. Everything you do, every card you pull is likely helping you advance a program for a reward somehow, someway.
Souvenirs which include team uniforms, hats, and jerseys are also a big part of advancing programs as well. While most of them don’t really do anything tangible in-game, they are incredibly important as they are involved in almost every program currently in MLB The Show 18. Certain programs require a specific uniform item such as a road hat, or home jersey, to advance. Or for some programs, you need to just turn in as much as you can of a specific uniform, jersey or hat, to accumulate a certain amount of points.
Uniform items like jerseys and hats in MLB The Show 18 are acquired the same way you acquire any other card in the game. Through playing, purchasing packs, or browsing the community board.
Easy ways to get free cards is just completing a game, such as a Diamond Dynasty ranked mode game, which will reward you with a free card if you don’t quit the game. Also, you may get an extra card randomly in addition to that free card after finishing a game. When you log in for the first time in a day, you’ll also get a free card which might be a uniform item. Opening a standard pack also guarantees you some kind of souvenir item.
The best way to get what you need though is to save up stubs (see our guide on how to do that) and then get specifically what you need from the community market board. Use filters to find what you’re looking for, and, if you’re following our how to get stubs advice, create a buy order to get them at a good price instead of rushing quickly to buy the first one available for sale as those are usually over priced.
