Getting Your First Weapon in Divinity: Original Sin 2
The prologue of Divinity: Original Sin 2 starts you off on a ship en route to Fort Joy. However, before too long, disaster strikes, and you’ll be forced to engage in combat with a few enemies on the ship. After your character wakes up, your goal is to head up the stairs, where you’ll soon encounter your first enemies. But before you do that, you’re going to want to arm yourself.
On the lower deck where you woke up, head over to where Ifan was standing. Hold down the left Alt button to check the items that you can pick up, and you should see a Greasy Key near Ifan. Pick it up, and you’ll be able to open the door next to him. In here, you’ll find a small Pocket Knife which can be used as a weapon. It’s not much, but it’ll help you get through the first encounter. Hit the I button to bring up your character sheet and inventory screen, then drag the Pocket Knife over to your equipment slots, and you’re all set.
While you can continue to the upper deck without taking a weapon, we highly advise against doing so.
