The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – How to Change Your Runes

As you visit more Shrines in the beginning of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you’ll acquire more Runes that come equipped with special abilities that will aid you on your journey. To use a Rune, all you have to do is press and hold the L button, and then press A to activate it. However, as you collect more Runes, you will eventually have to swap them around and use the one best suited for whatever situation you’re in.

To change Runes, simply press and hold up on the d-pad, and this will bring up the quick menu for all the Runes you’ve gathered in the game so far. With the right analog stick, flick it left and right to select the one that you want to use. After highlighting the Rune you want, release the up button on the d-pad and you’ll be good to go. This is pretty much the same menu system you’ll be using for the rest of your equipment and weapons as well.
