How Long it Is – Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is the newest entry to Capcom’s survival horror series. This time around, players take control of a character who isn’t a trained officer or member of the military as they explore a very creepy plantation full of crazed murderers and horrifying monstrosities. It’s perfectly understandable that some would want to know how long they’ll have to remain trapped in that nightmare, but the answer to that question isn’t so simple.
For a first run through the game, you can expect anywhere from 8-12 hours spent exploring the terrifying world if you aren’t using some guide. The large disparity comes down to how good you are at solving puzzles, how much exploration you want to do, and how quickly you can get past enemies. My personal first run clocked in at nine hours and 12 minutes, and that was with me actively looking for items and being amazed by the amount of detail in certain areas.
As far as chapters go, the game actually isn’t broken up that way. You have one main mission during Resident Evil 7, and it’s approached in a somewhat open yet linear fashion. You’re able to freely explore any area of the game you’ve unlocked with the exception of the very end.
If you are curious as to how the game is broken down, though, we’ve included each major section on the next page along with a quick description of what they entail.
