Comm Control in Metal Gear Online plays out like a regular zone control mode. As an attacker, your first priority should be to capture all of the comm links as soon as the match starts. Remember, you only have a few minutes to complete a comm download, and capturing links will drastically speed up the download rate, so this should be your primary objective.

From my experience, a good strategy is to split up in groups of three (assuming you’re in a team of six), and go for the two comm links that are closest to you. This is because the defenders are likely to camp out at all three comm links as soon as the match starts. Sticking together in safe numbers gives you a better chance of taking out any potential campers and surviving long enough to actually capture the comm link.

After taking over all three comm links, your next objective would be to keep pressure on the enemy until your download is complete. Your team will probably be scattered by the enemy at this point, so you’ll want to keep moving from one zone to another, making sure to take back any comm links the defenders might have recaptured.

Remember that Comm Control awards the most points for capturing comm links, so while eliminating enemies does help to make your progress a little easier, your top priority should always be to capture the comm links. In a situation where two or all three of the comm links have been recaptured by the defenders, always make your way to the zone that’s furthest away from the enemy. Low resistance will allow you to take it back fairly easily, and will at least keep the download going.
