3 Reasons to Buy a Nintendo Switch Over Everything Else

1 of 3

The Nintendo Switch has taken the world by storm since it initially launched last year. The console’s gotten plenty of praise from fans and critics alike, and it isn’t too hard to see why. That being said, here are a few good reasons why some players decided to stick with the Switch over the other consoles in the market.

Joy-Cons

3 Reasons People Choose the Nintendo Switch over Everything

Since the official reveal trailer back in October 2016, Nintendo has been placing a lot of focus on the Switch’s Joy-Cons. These nifty little sticks are the console’s main controllers, boasting features like a gyroscope, an accelerometer, a sensor bar, and the new HD Rumble. On top of that, both controllers are detachable from the main system. You can play using the tablet form or while lying down on the sofa with both Joy-Cons in your hand.

What truly sets them apart from the competition, however, is that both Joy-Cons each act as a mini-controller. Playing couch co-op games, such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Fire Emblem Warriors, has never been easier since you only need to give the other Joy-Con to a friend. You’re essentially getting two controllers when you buy a Nintendo Switch, which is a great deal for those who like to play with their friends or family. The system isn’t short of any party games either, and using the Joy-Cons are one of the best ways to play them.

Moving forward, it seems like Nintendo is also looking for new ways to make the most out of the Switch’s controllers. The Nintendo Labo is their next take on innovation, blending cardboards and Joy-Cons for a unique experience designed for kids and kids-at-heart. Similarly, most developers have yet to tap into some of the controller’s other features, such as the sensor on the right controller. With the Nintendo Switch only approaching its second year, we’ll probably see plenty of more ways to use the Joy-Cons in the future.
