You don’t have to be from down under to appreciate one of the latest posts from Nintendo AU. In order to celebrate the upcoming release of Metroid: Samus Returns, which is coming to the 3DS in just a little more than a month, fans of the franchise can pass a little bit of that time examining the newest pieces of artwork showing off Samus, her weapons, and alien lifeforms.
Metroid: Samus Returns is based on the 1991 Game Boy title that has the famed bounty hunter exploring a hostile planet in order to destroy the “Metroid menace”.
Samus Aran’s arsenal has been enhanced with new moves and abilities that are sure to help her face the deadly surprises that await. This intense, side-scrolling action platformer is a great entry point into the Metroid franchise and perfect for returning fans as well, and it’s available only on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.
Along with the remade graphics, there is also new content and features including a 360-degree Free Aim mode, powerful close-combat counterattacks, and a new energy source called Aeion.
Metroid: Samus Returns is set to release on Sept. 15 and is only for Nintendo’s portable family of 3DS systems, sorry Switch owners. Along with the game’s release, players can also pick up new amiibo of Samus and Metroid. Both of the new figures will be released on the same day as the game. The Zero Suit Samus and Samus amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series are also compatible with Metroid: Samus Returns.
