Persona 5: How to Recover SP

How to Recover SP in Persona 5

Dungeons, or Palaces, are one of the main aspects of Persona 5, and you’ll need to beat each of them by a specified date in order to keep going with the game. When you’re exploring dungeons, you’ll need to manage your HP, of course, but also keep an eye on your SP, which is essential for pulling off your Persona’s abilities.

Each character has a set pool of SP that will be completely full each time you enter a Palace. Unfortunately, it’s quite a bit harder to replenish than HP. The easiest way to do this, of course, is to leave the Palace and come back on another day. You are on a timeline, however, so each time you’re in a dungeon you’ll want to get as far as you possibly can with your current amount of SP. Luckily, there are a few restorative items that you can buy in the game as well.

Things like Soul Drops and Snuff Souls will restore your SP in Persona 5, and you might find a few in chests scattered across the game. Alternatively, you can also buy them from vending machines out in the real world. The vending machines next to the bathhouse, in the arcade in Shibuya, and outside of Shujin Academy all carry SP restoring items. Keep in mind, however, that these machines all have a limited amount and you’ll need to pay for the items. The machines will restock every Monday in-game, so take advantage of them when you can. Each item will restore between 5-10 SP at a time, but you won’t get many in the game so use them sparingly.

One other way of restoring SP is by raising the Death Arcana and Confidant to level 5. This unlocks an ability that lets you invigorate accessories, which will restore a small amount every turn. The Death Confidant is Dr. Tae Takemi, and you boost the link by participating in her clinical trials.

Just make sure to use SP and your items sparingly, and take the time to deplete your gauge before leaving a dungeon.
