How to Aim in Yooka-Laylee

Recommended Videos

On your collect-a-thon quest in Yooka-Laylee, there will come times that you need to shoot a projectile from Yooka’s mouth. Unfortunately, the third-person camera can make aiming this particularly difficult and frustrating. Don’t panic, though, as the game has an aim mode that’s well worth making use of.

All you need to do to enter aim mode is press the left thumb stick in (L3) and the camera will switch to a first-person mode. Even better, there’s a pretty Yooka-Laylee themed reticle to ensure you nail the shot, too.

While you won’t be able to move around while in aim mode, it’s particularly useful if you need to be a little more accurate with your projectiles. It’s worth noting, however, that you won’t instantly have access to aim mode when you start the game. Instead, it’ll automatically unlock once you’ve purchased Slurp Shot from Trowzer in the Tribalstack Tropics. After all, you wouldn’t have the ability to fire any projectiles up until this point anyway.

That’s all you need to know to enter and use the aiming viewe in Yooka-Laylee. For more tips, tricks, and guides for the game, be sure to check out our wiki.
