How to Level Up Fast in Yakuza Kiwami
Yakuza Kiwami, the remake of the first title, uses a different leveling system than the previous game Yakuza Zero. Although you do gain “levels,” it’s not in the traditional sense of giving you stat boosts or anything like that. Each level you gain in Yakuza Kiwami gives you one ability point to use to unlock abilities. Abilities scale in how many points they cost, going all the way up to 85 points to unlock one from one of the combat style boards. Luckily, the game rewards you with experience for almost everything you do, making it easy to gain levels and get points to use.
You will get experience by fighting enemies in the game as well as eating food, meaning you’ll gain experience naturally as you progress. However, two activities can reward you with tons of XP, Majima Everywhere and Subevents. When you first start doing these you’ll be rewarded with moderate XP, but beating Majima as you gain Majima Everywhere ranks can reward you with tons of experience giving you hundreds of levels at once in some cases. The same can be said for some of the Subevents later on. You don’t have to work too hard in Yakuza Kiwami to get extra experience to spend, as the game is good about sufficiently rewarding you for beating bosses, and doing any number of things.
