Brian Bloom did a phenomenal job of portraying a new BJ in Wolfesntein: The New Order, a quiet and solemn hero resolute in his ideals and unafraid of resorting to violence for the greater good. In The New Colossus, BJ has been broken and battered even more, giving us a shattered hero who still has to trudge on and fight for what’s right. Bloom’s portrayal of the character is even more resonant this time around, as we see more of BJ’s history and the actor injects humor, wit, and emotion at almost every turn.
This is easily one of the standout performances of the entire year, and the motion capture work within The New Colossus does a wonderful job of making BJ even more relatable and tragic.
