Staff Writer Taylor Danielle: During a time when the fighting game community was seeing a bit of a drought (so much so that many players quietly tiptoed over to For Honor as the next best thing), Injustice 2 emerged as a true hero. And we’re not just saying that because of its exceptional roster of DC heroes and villains. Injustice 2 truly and sincerely feels like the end result of developers spending more than three years eyeing Injustice: Gods Among Us with the sole purpose of discovering what has to go, what needs to stay and what is missing entirely.

The introduction of new mechanics like meter-burning air escapes and evasive rolls are small tweaks that truly change the dynamic of battle in a wonderful way and the sheer amount of possible juggle combos is enough to have you feeling like you’re in a fighting game player’s paradise. While many fighting games tend to find a particular area of excellence—whether it be fun cinematics, stellar mechanics or the best character roster around—Injustice 2 proves to be a master of many trades.

The Injustice game we all know and love move made a bold return with a new entry packed with tons of content for both multiplayer and single player game modes. Injustice 2 has a lot to offer right out the box and will easily captivate you for hours whether you consider yourself a fighting game player or not—and that kind of widespread appeal is perhaps one of Injustice 2’s most incredible achievements.
