Senior Editor Ishmael Romero: Normally, when you think of a licensed game, you probably expect something generic with famous faces plastered on. Anime games aren’t exempt from the worry. Very few invest in a unique AAA experience. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 happens to be one of those rare occurrences.
This latest entry covers the end of Naruto’s quest to become the worlds greatest ninja with a beautifully animated story, over-the-top boss fights, and a roster of over 100 playable characters. Players are treated to a top-notch anime experience as they fight with or against unique ninjas, and take in the best visuals the series has to offer. New mechanics such as elemental buffs and the ability to swap control between your support characters helped to liven up the gameplay with even more strategic options.
While many series struggle as they tack on more followups, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 has demonstrated how to go out on top. It is not only a solid entry (as well as a great licensed game), it is the best in the series, serving as a perfect finale.
