General Grievous
8 Star Wars Characters We Still Want to Play As in Battlefront II
General Grievous is certainly one of the most imposing looking villains in the entire series, and in the Clone Wars animated series at least, he’s not one to be trifled with. This hulking droid is almost a prototype for the technology used with Darth Vader, as he’s essentially just a few human organs transplanted into a robot body.
As a hero in Battlefront II, however, he could be a ton of fun to play with. His four lightsabers would make a terrifying sight to run into on the battlefield, and could also allow for some interesting abilities with him throwing them. The separatist commander would feel right at home with the other heroes and villains in Battlefront II.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
8 Star Wars Characters We Still Want to Play As in Battlefront II
Obi-Wan Kenobi is the single most obvious character that needs to appear in the new Battlefront games, and it’s kind of baffling that he hasn’t been included already. The seasoned Jedi is a central character for nearly the entire series, both a young man and the grizzled old Ben Kenobi. Either version of this iconic character would be a good inclusion, although admittedly it’d probably be more fun to see Obi-Wan in his older age on the battlefield.
Obi-Wan’s powerful force abilities and skills with a lightsaber would make him another good character to flesh out the roster of current heroes. Compared to other Jedi Obi-Wan’s lightsaber style is mostly defensive, something that could factor into how he plays as a hero, getting abilities that let him fend off attacks. He’s also quite skilled with Force powers including the Jedi Mind Trick, which could be something similar to the power that Rey currently has in Battlefront II.Â
IG-88

With two bounty hunters already in Star Wars Battlefront II, there’s no reason we couldn’t see another, and our money would be on IG-88. This sneaky bot is actually a rogue unit of the IG series that split off to become a renowned bounty hunter. You do see IG-88 in the original trilogy, but most of his deeds are fleshed out in the extended universe.
IG-88’s unique abilities as an assassin droid could make him a blast to play as. The sensors on his head can work in many different ways, and in Battlefront II, could give him a powerful homing ability or some kind of sensor ability like Boba Fett currently has. In addition, his torso can completely rotate, allowing him to blast enemies on all sides. If that doesn’t sound like a setup for a special move, I don’t know what is.
Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka is one of the newer additions to the series’ cast of characters, but she certainly earns her spot. In the Clone Wars, Ahsoka is the Padawan of Anakin Skywalker himself, and through this she learns to be just as wild and unpredictable as her master. Ahsoka’s basic skills with a lightsaber and the force are clear, and she quickly comes into her own, saving Anakin and Obi-Wan multiple times. Later on, she factors into the Rebel Alliance, and plays a key part in its early days in Star Wars Rebels.
Her unique combat style has her wielding one and sometimes two lightsabers backhanded, which could give her some variation on the current force users in Battlefront II. Considering there are very few heroes from the prequels and Clone Wars era right now, Battlefront II could definitely do with a few like Ahsoka. Even better, she’s one of the characters that bridges the gap between the prequel trilogy and the original.
Mace Windu

Mace Windu was once the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy, at least in terms of combat prowess, although Yoda easily surpassed him in his ability with the Force. Windu basically served as the second in command of the Jedi order, and Yoda’s closest confidant. His skills in battle were seen countless times throughout the Clone Wars, including the battle of Geonosis.
Windu would be almost entirely focused on physical saber attacks, and could function as a good counter to Darth Maul in Battlefront II. Of course, the simple fact is who wouldn’t want to go into battle with the lovely purple lightsaber?
Captain Rex
8 Star Wars Characters We Still Want to Play As in Battlefront II
With Star Wars Battlefront II bringing the prequel era into the mix, it seems only right that we might get a Clone Commander as a hero. In that regard, no one would be a better fit than Captain Rex, an instrumental commando in the Clone Wars series, and a friend of Ahsoka. Rex commanded the renowned 501st Battalion of the Clone army, and he had strong leadership qualities as well as skills in battle.
Rex would work well as a ranged unit, peppering enemies with his dual blasters. He could also function as a kind of Officer hero in Battlefront II, with abilities that could buff nearby allies or reduce their cooldowns. He’d be the perfect hero for rallying attacks.
Asajj Ventress
8 Star Wars Characters We Still Want to Play As in Battlefront II
Asajj Ventress would be another deadly addition to the Sith in Battlefront II. Ventress was trained by Count Dooku, and she became a powerful commander and assassin for the Confederate forces. However, her force powers were growing at an extraordinary rate, to the point that Darth Sidious ordered Dooku to eliminate her, for fear of how powerful she could become.
Ventress would be an incredibly agile character, darting around the battlefield and wreaking havoc in enemy ranks. Her force powers would be on par with the likes of Luke Skywalker or Kylo Ren in Battlefront II, and her dual lightsabers could also allow for some unique abilities.
Starkiller
8 Star Wars Characters We Still Want to Play As in Battlefront II
Okay, so we know The Force Unleashed isn’t officially canon anymore, but that doesn’t mean Starkiller wouldn’t be a really cool character to play as in Battlefront II. Besides, Darth Maul fighting Rey on Hoth isn’t exactly canon either, it’s just a Star Wars fantasy, which is what Battlefront does. Darth Vader’s apprentice is an incredibly powerful force user, with deadly combat and Sith abilities like shooting lightning.
Starkiller would feel right at home on the battlefields of Star Wars Battlefront II, and he’d use a deadly combination of force powers and close range attacks. Who wouldn’t want to see The Apprentice take on the likes of Luke and Yoda?
