Post-Launch Content
When it comes to supporting a game after its launch, Blizzard is perhaps one of the best developers at releasing a steady amount of DLC, events, and expansions. World of Warcraft is one of the most famous examples as this wildly popular MMORPG released back in 2004 and has been going strong for nearly 13 years. This is thanks to the constant feed of extra goodies that were released such as new loot, areas, quests, PvP add-ons, and full expansions that opened up entirely new areas. By doing this Blizzard has been able to keep a very old title relevant even in this modern age of gaming thanks to giving players enough content to keep coming back.
However, not all of Blizzard’s games simply release large content expansion as their newest game Overwatch has received a steady amount of DLC as well. Overwatch, since it’s release last year, has gotten two new heroes, maps, and an abundance of new skins, brawls, and events that offer something new for players to do. Couple this with the constant updates to their existing modes and Blizzard has already set Overwatch up for success for many years to come.
