Take/ Defend the Less Obvious Route

A number of maps in Overwatch have one obvious way to the capture points for Assault. This makes attacker’s movements pretty predictable for the defensive team. While this may seem like a weakness for those on the offensive, you can also use it to your advantage with some scouting of the map.

If you find that the likes of Hanzo and Widowmaker are picking off your team whenever you go down the main path, try looking for another way in. For example, on Hanamura, try going up and over the walls nearby the first spawn point to avoid the main entry point. With any luck, you’ll catch the defensive team completely off guard and will be able to cut them down so the rest of your team can walk on through.
