Not every shot is destined for the net of the basket. Even the best shooters, miss, a lot. Just ask Kobe Bryant about that one. That said, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, so don’t let that discourage you.

Hopefully, when and if you miss, you have a big-time “garbage” man ready to pick up your trash shot and put it back in the basket where it’s supposed to be.

In order to perform a Putback Dunk in NBA 2K18, simply be in position for a rebound, but instead of pressing your rebound button (triangle, Y, X for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch), hit your shoot button (square, X, Y). Obviously this is a riskier/lower percentage than just simply going for the rebound and starting the play over from scratch, but the obvious benefit is potentially getting an easy two pointers and the gratification of slamming down a missed shot with authority.
