How to Do Non-Lethal Takedowns in Mafia III

Recommended Videos

There’s a lot of violence in Mafia III, as the name of the game may have suggested to you already. But, every once in a while, if the blood and violence gets too much, you may want to switch up the different takedowns in the game. Mafia III grants players a lot of options and choices. One such option comes in how bloody you want to make your takedowns. There are two separate achievements/trophies for both lethal and non-lethal takedowns, too, so you might be wondering yourself how to switch them up. Here’s everything you need to know to quickly and easily switch between both lethal and non-lethal takedowns in the game.

Mafia III begins with lethal automatically selected, and as such, Lincoln will use his dagger to slice up the enemies that you manage to get a hold of. If you want to switch on over to non-lethal, go to the pause menu, tab on over to the Options section, move to the Game Settings option, and it’s here where you can change how you do Melee Takedowns. Besides changing the gore of it all, it will affect trophies/achievements, and also gives you a sense that Lincoln isn’t that bad of a guy. Though, we’re pretty sure he still is anyway!

That’s about it for the differences between the two, so go ahead and take your pick depending on your preferences. And remember, you need to score a certain number of kills with each setting in order to unlock some trophies and achievements. Good luck out there in New Bordeaux!

That’s all you need to know to perform non-lethal takedowns in Mafia III. For more Mafia III help, be sure to check back to Twinfinite’s wiki for guides, tips, and more!
