Just because you’re planning on killing everyone in Dishonored 2 doesn’t mean you don’t have to be mindful of alarms in the area. Whenever you enter a new room, make sure to look for alarms on the walls, and rewire them. If a guard spots you and manages to activate a regular alarm, you’ll be swarmed by every enemy sentry in the area. There are smarter ways to go about dealing with guards.

By rewiring the alarm, it essentially becomes a trap for the first guard that touches it, and will disable them. After that, the alarm itself also becomes inactive. Not only does this allow you to take out sentries more easily, it also saves you the headache of being overwhelmed by more foes than you can handle.
