Dead Cells is a roguelike Metroidvania that uses death as a prominent mechanic. You play as a corpse that has to make its way through procedurally generated stages full of monsters and puzzles, but you can find cool weapons and skills along the way. Once you die though, which will happen a lot, you come back to life with those weapons lost.
But you can get cells from defeating enemies and you can use them to essentially reroll to get new weapons and powers before starting out on your run once again.
Dead Cells is brutally challenging and will require a lot of time before you… get good. It asks a lot from you but once you get sucked into it, it feels so rewarding and satisfying to venture further and further into the dungeons.
Also, this package comes with the Rise of the Giants expansion which features new bosses, items, and levels, so that’s a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
