The first Trails of Cold Steel already hit PS4 earlier this year and now the second, and arguably better, Trails of Cold Steel II is arriving on the system. This pair of hugely underappreciated RPGs tell an epic story about a group of students in Class VII at the Thors Military Academy, in the Erebonian Empire.
Cold Steel II picks up right where the first game ends, tasking Rean Schwarzer with traveling to find the lost members of Class VII. We’ve talked about what makes the Cold Steel games so great before, but basically, they combine strong turn-based combat, Persona-like simulation elements, and a massive overarching story.
If you haven’t jumped on board yet, now’s the time before Trails of Cold Steel III releases later this year on PS4.
