Throughout his time in Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village, Ethan has the occasional limb chopped off. Since this injury isn’t on the top of the list, it just goes to show that Ethan endures a lot of pain in these games.

While making his way through Castle Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village, Ethan finds a lever connected to an elevator. As he goes to pull the lever, something quick flashes across the screen as Ethan’s entire hand falls off, revealing Lady Dimitrescu and her sharp claws to be the culprit.

This whole sequence is incredibly gross, as you can see all of his bones and muscles, and he literally has to use his hand to open the lever then pick it up.

While it’s certainly hard even to fathom how painful this would be, it is at least fast and clean-cut, whereas the other entries on this list are not. It’s also a little higher on this list because he’s able to attach it moments later when he pours some of that magic healing liquid he always uses, and it works like nothing ever happened.
