Mega Man Battle Network
Back in the 2000s, Capcom was busting out these Mega Man Battle Network games like nobody’s business. There were six Battle Network games and then the Star Force series had several entries as well, plus an anime series.
These games looked like your traditional top-down RPG, similar to games like Pokemon, but the combat was very unique, with a battlefield consisting of several spaces where you can freely move Mega Man around.
The system consisted of having a deck of battle cards to use during the fight, and depending on where you were standing, the cards would have different effects.
You would play as Lan, exploring the real world and taking on quests, and then the majority of the game would take place in the Net, where you would jack-in and then play as Mega Man.
Even though Capcom released almost a dozen iterations of the franchise, they didn’t review well, but I think that a reboot would be awesome, especially since Mega Man 11 performed pretty well, critically.
It would give fans a different take on Mega Man and could introduce new characters or maybe a different battle system.
I just want a new Mega Man RPG and since we probably won’t be getting a new Mega Man Legends game, this could be the next best thing.
