Gundam is one of the longest-running anime series out there, and recent years have seen more of a focus on Gunpla themselves. The Gundam Build-fighters sub-series created a fun anime focused around building and battling Gunpla, and now New Gundam Breaker brings a similar experience onto the PS4. It’s been years since we’ve seen a Gundam Breaker game in the west, and this one promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
The basic concept of Gundam Breaker has you constructing your own Gunpla on a frame, mixing and matching parts from different mobile suits across the franchise. New Gundam Breaker will let you swap parts out on the fly during combat, which has a focus on 3vs3 battles. Like most Gundam games there’ll be a wide selection of parts and suits from the various series, with everything from Reconguista in G to Char’s Counterattack represented. There’s even an original story, that apparently will feature some degree of dating mechanics. It’s one for anime fans to watch out for.
