Forward Operating Base Invasion
Metal Gear Solid V: TPP has the Mother Base that fans are undoubtedly familiar with, but it also has a separate, smaller base used solely for online play. This is your Forward Operating Base, and everyone is allowed to have one. You can infiltrate the bases of friends and strangers alike so that you can steal resources and brag about how you’re the best soldier out there.
You can defend your base personally if you happen to be online, and your friends can do so for you if you aren’t (if nobody is available, then AI will handle the heavy lifting). Revenge can be taken on players as long as they are spotted at least once during infiltration, allowing players to retake what was lost. It’s a pretty awesome scenario that puts two Big Bosses against one another in a battle for supremacy.
The fact that the Defender and Attacker have different experiences is great as well, since it provides more of an incentive to play both sides. One thing to keep in mind is that the FOBs aren’t available right from the very beginning. You must progress through the story before you’ll be able to build and customize this base in Metal Gear Solid V: TPP.
