New World just can’t catch a break. It wasn’t too long ago that players had discovered a gold dupe exploit that came with the server transfer features, and that resulted in Amazon Game Studios shutting down the entire economy indefinitely. Players couldn’t buy or sell items on the trading post, couldn’t pay taxes, and companies couldn’t keep up with town upgrades as they continued getting pummeled with wars and invasions.
Just when it seemed like the game was slowly recovering from that mess, yet another duplication exploit has been discovered. This time, players are able to duplicate furniture and other items, allowing them to completely bypass the process of having to farm materials to craft them.
In response, Amazon has halted the entire economy again. So yeah, no more trading post functions, no more player trades, no more sending gold to your company or other players, and no more taxes for upkeep. It’s rough. These features will go back online once the exploit has been patched out.
New World is now available on PC.
