Firewatch
Firewatch falls into the ‘walking simulator’ category, but don’t let that put you off if you’ve never played one before. The beauty of Firewatch doesn’t come from its basic gameplay, but from the incredibly powerful story told through some excellent voice acting. You’re Henry, a guy who has retreated into the Wyoming wilderness to forget his past and keep the vast expanses of wildlife safe from any threat of fire. To top it all off, the only company you have out here is Delilah, the voice on the other end of your two-way radio.
We’re not going to say too much more other than things don’t go quite as planned for Henry and Delilah, and so you’ll be doing a lot of exploring of the vast wilderness that lays before you. With some stunning views, a great story, and the ability to escape the real world and into the beautiful wilderness, Firewatch is a bargain at $19.99.
