Shochiku released a new trailer of Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Gekitotsu, the new series of theatrical anime films dedicated to the popular space opera.

The series, the subtitle of which translates as “clash” or “duel,” will air like the second season in Japanese theaters split into three movies. They will debut sequentially on March 4, April 1, and May 13, 2022, and each will remain available for three months.

The trailer showcases many well-known characters and focuses on the Imperial side.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is one of the most iconic anime space operas ever published, with its OVA run inspired by Yoshiki Tanaka’s novels counting well over 100 episodes between 1988 and 1997.

Die Neue These brings the story back with a fresh coat of paint, having started with a TV series in 2018, while the second season was aired in Theaters in 2019, adopting the current format.
