How to Protect Yourself From Spores in Sims 4 Strangerville

Sims 4 Strangerville is all about solving a mystery in a small desert town. As you explore the new world, you’ll come across all kinds of things, one of which is spores. Here is everything you need to know about how to protect yourself from spores in Sims 4 Strangerville.

What They Do in Sims 4 Strangerville

Spores in Sims 4 Strangerville make your sim pass out for a little while when they walk through them, as well as giving you the rather unwanted Infected trait. They also block a part of the lab in the game, which you need to reach.

The game tells you that you “need protection” to get past them, which you need to follow a few steps to do.

How to Protect Yourself From Spores

You will meet a military person who tells you that she has an infection scanner, but you need to convince her to give it to you. Trying to seduce her won’t work, but we offered her 750 simoleons and that worked.

The infection scanner allows you to remove spores in Sims 4 Strangerville. When you go to the area with them, you need to select the scanner in your inventory, then select ‘Scan Area’, which reveals the Spore Clusters that are near you. You can then pick them up.

With 15 of them, you can then use them with the machines in the secret lab to “Construct Infection Profile Data”, which then needs to be taken to a scientist.

When you give a scientist the data, they will then send a Spore Filter to you in the mail. Thankfully, it’ll arrive almost instantly and you’ll be notified that it has.

Once you have the Spore Filter in Sims 4 Strangerville, you will need to combine it with a hazmat suit. You can get one of those from the Curio Shop, as the game prompts you to. It’ll cost you 1,000 simoleons, but you’ll then be able to combine the two items.

This will then really help you protect yourself from spores. You can put the suit on, the one that’s been combined with the Spore Filter, and walk into the area that was previously blocked off by spores.

What Is Past the Spores

Here, you’ll come across a gigantic plant mother that’s clearly the root of the issue in Strangerville. If you’re infected, you won’t be able to fight it, and you won’t be able to communicate with it because the possessed buff will appear and your sim will leave the area. You first need to cure yourself.

The vaccine is five spore clusters and one bizarre fruit. You can buy bizarre fruit from the curio shop or nurture a bizarre plant and then harvest the fruit when it pops open. Once you’ve made the vaccine and are cured, you should be able to continue without any issues.

That’s everything you need to know about how to protect yourself from spores in Sims 4 Strangerville. For more tips and tricks on Sims 4, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
