Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is one of the most in-depth RPGs the series has yet to offer, bringing with it things like a wider array of skills and well-crafted weapon skill trees. Though, when just starting, the base skill tree is minimal, with only three sections. While you might think that’s the best it gets, it will spread. Here’s how to expand the skill tree in Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris.

As you know, the base skill tree has three sections, or EX Skills: Attacker, Defender, and Buffer. Every branch in these EX Skills consists of three or four skills. Some of these skills will create the opportunity to unlock a new EX Skill and further expand the skill tree once the last combat/passive skill has been unlocked.

For instance, the Inferno Prayer skill in the Defender tree will open the chance to unlock the Healer EX Skill. Up in the Attacker tree, there are two additional Ex Skill trees.

Berserker is available after buying Essence of the Blade and Scout comes with obtaining Clear Mind. However, these new EX skills aren’t immediately unlocked for you and you cannot see the corresponding tree without buying them.

Besides costing skill points, EX Skills have certain unlock requirements. For the Healer Ex Skill, the player must “successfully heal the required amount of damage.” In this case, the required amount of healing is 100,000 HP, no small feat.
