What the Xbox One Release Date Is for Rust

After four years, Rust finally left Steam’s early access program last week, rewarding those players who helped during the development process with Frog Boots and offering a more polished experience than we’ve previously seen. Though Rust is far from being 100% completed, some fans may be wondering if there’s any word on an Xbox One release date now that the PC version is officially out of its early access phase.

Currently, an Xbox One release date hasn’t really been nailed down. Over on the game’s official site, “console versions” of Rust are listed in the roadmap‘s Q3 2018+ column, meaning they could come any time from about September onwards.

Even then, the wording for the console versions on the roadmap doesn’t sound like an Xbox One release date is a real concern right now. “At some point, when the game makes sense and has very little confusing elements and performance issues, deploy console versions.”

As such, it seems that the console versions are very much a case of ‘they’ll arrive once the PC version is all sorted.’ Once we get word of any update regarding an Xbox One release date, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know.
