Rogue Legacy 2 is finally available on Steam Early Access, giving players the chance to test the sequel out before its full release. If you’re encountering things you don’t quite understand, here’s everything you need to know about what the Pacifist Trait does in Rogue Legacy 2.
Just as was the case in the hit first game, you’ll choose a new descendant each time you die, starting a new run with different stats and traits. Each descendant you use and get the chance to pick from will have different traits and some of them will have the Pacifist trait.
What the Pacifist Trait Does in Rogue Legacy 2
The Pacifist Trait isn’t something you’re going to want to ignore when choosing a descendant before a run through the castle. What it does is gives you a character who cannot attack enemies. They’re against violence, so will not fight in any way.
However, that downside is balanced out by the fact that you get more gold from destroying objects in the castle.
Therefore, you should only choose a descendant with the Pacifist Trait under a couple of circumstances. You should only do so when you want the next run to be one where you’re focusing on farming gold. If you’re close to the next armor or weapon upgrade and need gold, choosing a Pacifist character will help you get stacks quickly so that you can unlock things for the next proper run.
However, you’ll need to be familiar enough with the room designs and enemy attacks to be able to avoid combat. You’ll have to run through rooms without dying, collecting gold from objects along the way. Therefore, it’s not a trait you’ll want to choose right at the start of the game.
