Red Dead Redemption 2: How to Increase Stamina

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the prequel to Rockstar’s popular wild west open world game, which was originally released for the PS3 and Xbox 360. This time around, instead of taking control of John Marston, players will step into the shoes of Arthur Morgan, a trusted member of the Dutch Van Der Linde gang. Marston himself will still be in the game, and we’ll get a glimpse of what he was like before the events of the first title. As you travel across the wide open world, you’ll quickly realize that you need a bit of stamina if you’re planning on running around a lot. Here’s what you need to know about how to increase stamina in Red Dead Redemption 2.

How to Increase Stamina in Red Dead Redemption 2

In order to increase stamina in Red Dead Redemption 2, there are a few things you can do to improve it. For instance, engaging in strenuous activities will improve it over time. If you go swimming or sprint a lot, you’ll gain stamina points, which will be indicated on the right side of the screen.

Similar to how health works in this game, you have a stamina bar and a stamina core. The core is the lightning symbol itself, and it determines how quickly your stamina bar refills. While you can increase the stamina bar, you won’t be able to increase the core.

How to Check Stamina Level

Once you have enough stamina points to reach the next threshold, your stamina bar will automatically be increased. You can pause the game, select the Player option, select Arthur, and check your stamina progress from there. You’ll be able to see how many more points you need in order to increase stamina in Red Dead Redemption 2.

In addition to that, if you’ve been keeping up with the in-game challenges, you can also obtain special equipment that will give you a bonus method to increase stamina.

How Weight Affects Stamina in Red Dead Redemption 2

Lastly, one more important thing to keep in mind when managing stamina is your weight. If you’re underweight in Red Dead Redemption 2, your stamina consumption will decrease, allowing you to run and swim for a longer period of time. However, being underweight means that your damage absorption will be lower as well. On the other hand, if you’re overweight, your stamina will take a hit, while your damage absorption increases.

Try to maintain a perfect weight balance to ensure that you’re not suffering any stamina or health penalties. Though, if you do increase stamina from being underweight, just keep in mind that it can go just as easily as it came.
